On the afternoon of November 22, Shanghai Sanda University and Shanghai International Business Foreign Language School jointly organized the first Spanish (business) major in this comprehensive class. All 30 students, led by teacher Yang Qiong, came to our school to experience college life. This major was approved in April of this year as a pilot major in secondary vocational education -- applied undergraduate majors through training mode, which is the only pilot program in Spanish.
Chen Quan, director of the Spanish department, introduced the school history, specialty and learning methods. He proposed that students should develop their Spanish professional spirit, combined with the seven-year teaching plan. He encouraged students to take one step at a time to complete the tasks that should be finished at each stage, and strive to fully develop in Spanish listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating.
During the students’ discussion and exchange, the junior students of Spanish major introduced their college life in Spanish and talked about the ideals and responsibilities of young people. Afterwards, the visiting students asked questions one by one and talked about their interests, hobbies and ideals with our students. The teachers and students responded to their questions one by one. After the discussion, Chen Quan affirmed that the visiting students had active thoughts, deep thinking and strong thirst for knowledge.
